In his future he sees tired coughing,
The seer mundane usually finds nothing,
Only peering back upon seared meat,
Apparently to be, or feel something.

In his mind, he wishes to be someone,
See his sums upped, feel unusual.
He is detached, however, like Buddha,
But he has an even broader usage.

Once again he peers into the ether,
He sees himself equal and decent,
Sears at the breathing creature,
Fears his lack of freedom.
"Coward", he screams,
"Coward", he casts his disease.
Pulls from inside himself, meaning.

He sees his reflection again in the mirror,
Breathing heavily into the air, at first,
But eventually he cried with realization.

The wind whispers to my skin,
It's like it speaks with every breath.
As if it has been calling out for my presence,
Waiting to see the face behind this mask.
So far it has shown nothing but disdain,
And I wonder if I have anything left to give.

In darkness I wander,
With nothing but my memories
Falling, falling, falling.
Where once I saw light now lies only gloom,
And I know that it has gone.
For those who wish for rest, I have none
Though I'd give up what I have, for one more.
But it's too much now, I can't move my hands,
I just want to sleep...
(My memory, it fades)
In the dark, with nothing to grasp,
The memories that I hold so dear
Fall away from me like they were never there.
And I feel as though I will fall into madness,
Like the very world is crumbling beneath my feet,
That everything is crashing down,
I fear I cannot stand the weight.
(I'm fading)
I just want to sleep...
(My memory, it fades)
***
I'm afraid I've gone and made a fool out of myself again,
I knew you wouldn't understand my reason,
And now you're not talking to me at all,
You see I didn't mean to let your memory fade,
It's like I was being pulled away by another force,
Something I didn't mean, something I can't control,
I don't even know why I'm still here...
I don't know why I'm still here.
I should leave this place, I know it's wrong,
I shouldn't be here in your mind,
I can't help the way that I am,
I don't know why I'm Super Mundane,
I can't stop feeling so low,
I'm afraid it's already too late.

I didn't mean to let you slip away,
But the thought of losing you just doesn't sit right,
To keep you awake and alive,
I need you here, I'm not alone,
Without you here with me I can't go on,
I don't know why I'm Super Mundane,
I don't know why I'm still here.
I didn't mean to let you slip away,
I just can't shake this feeling,
That something inside of me is broken,
I don't know why I'm Super Mundane,
I don't know why I'm still here.

Towards evening, the island's in silhouette,
Dark trees line the beach and the cliffs at water level.
Ripples of light ripples shimmer on the sea.
Distant whales make a low moan or grunt.
Anchor chain groans and creaks from the boat.
They sit in silence, then share a long kiss.
Beside them the ship rocks gently on the waves.
The captain draws a sigh as he drinks his ale.
Then down into the darkness, the depths,
To where the sharks prowl, where the dolphins swim,
Where the whales sing their songs.
And the hunters will go to find them.
***
Whale hunt, that's what it was about,
The whale, the whale. The hunt, the hunt.
What did you want?
Just something to do.

An explosion, two million boats,
Less than a third vote.
'oh, the problem, is they lack common goals"
The rest boast, but it was about the same before.
The belly distends, the body groans,
Inside you would hope the innards grow,
But they don't.
Their parents croak, clear the bones,
Inside you would hope for inner growth,
But instead they find more civil wars,
Complain of the guy next door,
To the grocery store, government and local media,
Instead of getting to know.

It was cold & the sky was too red as the sunset came too early - my brain was spinning with those letters & numbers & they were falling out of my ears. I looked at the asphalt and I saw my past and future yawning out - both in the same direction on the one-way road but my ears were too cold to listen, to learn. It was too austere in the building & too frigid outside & too glacial in the car picking its way home through the ice and old snow. It was too much too few & not enough of anything at all. & it swarmed. Threes with wings and velocities out with compound eyes buzz & sting & leave me paralyzed, there on the curb.

Inside its silent eyes lies science,
'Mine', like a child it cries, looks outside.
Giant's eyes wide, where is his gigantic pile?
His highest pride defiled by tyrants,
Find me a guy who wouldn't sigh.
Final smiles, like wind can fly by,
like time it flies by, like kites.
Like a demon the giant tries,
Though like giant piles of hay,
May blow away in the wind,
Giants below may just might,
Or unjust, but ultimately he decides.

Amounts, they screamed, amounts,
Seemingly all they knows about.
Amounts, a mouth, beatings.
Even just, if by the brow,
Cow steps on the mouse,
Like a man steps on a mount.

Echoes, couch downstairs,
This is my house, GET OUT!
Narrowing in the mind, cowers
Like an arrows path forward,
Like time, straight, downward.

Dance, doubt, awkward bow,
Applause amounts, doubt,
Can a mouse hear the sound?
Leers, liquors, in various amounts.
In the end, a mouse needs cheese.
A cow needs many more things,
Succumbs to meandering about the fence,
Outside of this, they find no peaceful crowd.

People of the ground, fearing clouds, fearing now,
Cowards that fear when you speak and shout,
Cows teaching which they know nothing about,
Why should a mouse throw spears at the clouds?
Zeus and Venus,
Why would they fear if I step on a mound, kneel,
Bow or two step around it?
Are they cowards like me?

Paper, mind racing;
April, outside rain;
Days, time, pain.
Trial, minor inheritance,
Inside raging, vain,
Water droplet pacing.

Lies, decadence,
Left in the sunset.
Am I adept?
Think, look back.
Flies in everything,
Trying anything,
I, tried everything.

Trial, cherry picking,
Many years,
Their meaning?
A small committee,
Press, briefings:
Ideas discrete,
Their leanings.

Where is the time for healing?

Right person, wrong time,
Mother was right,
Life is not a slice pie,
Sweetness inside,
Yet better divided.

Imagination lame,
Deception, I change,
Mirror, terrified gaze.

Do dreams for tomorrow,
Define today?
I wish to wish my dreams away,
Live a simple teal or gray.

Trackside, the engineer twists and turns
Back and forth - on the chair
Tapping feet
Biting their lips
Clenching fists

The balance must be right

Between performance, between life
Focus, forthright
In every tiny decision
Every design to make
Weighing off the balance of winning
Versus the life one could take

At light speed, the pilot twists and turns
Every lap, committed in the highest of G's
Back and forth - shifts and learns
Working wrists
Operating feet

The balance must be right

Between speed, between sight
In every corner
A decision awaits
Weigh the balance of life
Versus the passion to race

Truffle, my gems are gone.
All bets are off.
Swan, water, ruffles,
Trouble underwater,
The fish will balk:
Death march talk becomes bubbles,
They beg off, shot in the stomach,
Test nothing, swim to the bottom.

Lord, I spoke to God.
Soft, I sodded off.
Man, laughter, shuffle,
Trouble in the park,
People just forgotten:
Talking until nonsense,
Their tussles long,
Of consequence and knowledge,
Then replaced by logs.

what sleeps in the forest beside the highway?
what lays its small head on dismembered takeout boxes and curls up beneath plastic bags emblazoned with ‘thankyouthankyouthankyou’?

does it give thanks for small polyurethane luxuries?
for the refuse it calls its refuge?

what feeds on the grease and fumes from the roaring mechanical parade?
does it lick its lips afterwards?

what learns to cross the glimmering cement - first timidly, then wanton and triumphant after practice?

what watches?

what does it notice?

what emerges from the forest beside the highway, large and lumbering, to repay the generosity of its benefactors in kind?

Should one be horrified of nothing?
Hook, shore, line, cheeks blushing,
Sorry I lack a lively career,
Goodbye, deary;
My life is lovely.

They say no rush,
Speak nothing of time and boxes;
Wishing they were ski jumping,
Even if it begets evil things.

One hundred years fishing.
Whether or not I am punished,
God, brother, life, iron will,
I watched the flowers flourish.
Like drumsticks desire a skin,
Find, then are tossed aside:
Tomorrow is unprovided,
Yet I will.

Fresh lemon,
Rush of adrenaline,
Lime.
Time for nachos,
No black olives on mine.
Salt, Salsa,
Sour cream on the side,
Cheese in abundance,
Swine.

Of doubt, other mouths,
A beautiful house,
External grounds,
A pattern of sounds.
Steps: Drum sets,
Words abound their flesh,
Head in the clouds.

If one could fly away,
Where could you go,
Besides the sky to stay?

If one could bike,
Cycle into the skyline,
Left foot fine,
Right foot aligned,
Thoughts fill my mind,
The blind can read it.

When you were fine,
and I took the time,
When you were mine,
I looked life away.
When you're five,
You say goodnight,
and you hope the same,
for your final days.

When you lie awake,
Were the choices you made right:
My private plane,
My rightful place?
My silent rage.
She says you're mine,
To another guy,
Would I mind?
I mean, I made no complaint.

BELIEVE IN...
Believe in the efforts you put,
Surprising will be your output.

Believe in the prayers you make
This lets your conscience awake.

Believe in the smile you display
Happiness shall form an array.

Believe in the help you provide
Your problems shall remain aside.

Believe in friends you trust
Your friendship shall not rust.

Believe in the seeds you sow
The yield shall be simply a wow.

Believe in the words of a teacher
His words shall mould your feature.

So believe in yourself above all
It's human software, all must install.

For Mayor, for payment,
For wages, forced labour,
For most run four bases,
For patience, no basis.

Road changes like young brains,
Record-breakers, the role favours;
Horses race toward old age,
and the coast as it fades;

Full weight behind the sail,
Like regulation of the state,
Your neighbour, Your patron,
Afford bravery for faith,
While some live, agate,
Judge races from inside of a cage.
