Macho dancer, nacho boy,
Follower, borrowed language,
Patterned, upon another land.
They call you boy, not a man.

Hollow laughter from the distance,
Borrowed valor, from deep sadness.
Thirty seven candles later you visit,
Sorrow, passion, anger, business,
All over a taco salad?
I thought you had charisma?

They say your life, not your plan...
Also talent, not what you had.

Abscence, between smashing.
Not pathetic and sad,
Crippled by lattice fences,
Under another mask.

Actually? They call me often, I'm in demand.

Another sunset and other bands,
People are as carbon is to plants,
Commerce is to banks,
Son is to a dad.

Berries, on a plate,
Berries, stay in place,
Barrie, by the bay,
Very much the same,
Painted by numbers,
Same as yesterday.

Terry Towel upon the face,
Cucumbers, and potatoes,
Over white and yellow paste.

In the street, expensive things,
And nodding off on heroin,
Near a tesla by the beach.

Disdain of flesh,
Decay of sense,
Working late, again,
It remains unsaid.

Burning bayonets,
Arms, upon a chair,
I, long to embrace myself,
Instead of remain unsaid,
Undead and lifeless.

Easel, muse, what is fate?
My eyes no longer meet it,
My hands no longer make.

Like a glove conceals a ring,
Kind words, greater schemes.
I must run like we were kids,
I love drugs, love the feelings,
I love the girl.

Sober realism...

Stare into the distance,
Eventually you see the same,
Tomorrow, is a little late

Words of caution,
Gourds in autumn,
Fears be gone in her,
A plate summed full.

Squash in the soil,
Seeds in the garden,
Water on her arms,
Written over blood.

Gambling problem,
Lust, as if scarlet,
Just as I write it:
Clubs, spades, diamonds.

A heart divines it,
A world divides it,
Time becomes distance,
A bicycle by the bridge.

Thinking of exposure, orange,
Are you coming over? Oh...
From emotion to hypnosis,
Light comes from the phone.

Talking frozen yogurts, awards,
Terrifying rollercoasters, poets.
Light comes from the phone,
Orange how the redness shows,
Awe, gathering rosebuds below.

When I wrote about you it showed,
Both you and I know it,
What else do I love?

Suppose you had died,
What else would I have?
Hope you might fly home?
Well, I paid for it anyway...
Light comes from the phone,
Blindness from my brain,
Tiredness of fate.

Like edamame on a plate,
Somehow, I hoped for more,
Even if it was more the same

though it has been so long, i have not forgotten you.
i have searched for you among the crowded shelves of bookshops, the cobbled displays of libraries, the take-one-leave-one boxes scattered through town.
i have dug deep in my jacket pockets for the notes and coins needed to take you home with me.
i have cradled you close to me underneath my coat while i am waiting for the 6:58 bus.
i have found you in tulip bulbs peeking above the soul for the sun, late august thunderstorms that pelted our new apartment, the january wind that brings ice and chapped hands.

you have made sure your spine stands straighter when i roam through each aisle, saturated and dewey with books.
you have pushed the dimes and nickels into my grasping fingers so that we may spend our time together that much quicker.
you have squeezed me hard as we step off the bus at 7:34.
you have flung yourself through the sky and earth to find me in the smallest of stolen moments. you kiss my hands and my head and flush them rosy with emotion.
you have not forgotten me either, it seems.

If I could, I would take my grey for your gray,
My grave for your grave, but in the end I will fail.
Take my blade and slay your beasts, hero.
Even if all you see are beasts and famous people,
Not beings from which you take a piece.
In fear we never speak, like ancient egypt,
People change, things remain the same for me.

You aspire for some greater freedom,
Perhaps, from up there you can label people,
Teach them who should be sold as slaves.
Maybe you can take those taken pieces,
Build back the things you took from me.
Gain more favour and speak loquacious,
But gone are the days where you heard me speak,
Gone are the days of our walks on the beach,
Because even long ago I was but memories.

Things have changed, besides the people,
Weight and age mostly,
But when I see your face,
You want an escape, I can see it.
A smile that lies on its face,
But your heart plain as day.
Rather than three hours too soon,
One minute late

Knowing few truths, too youthful, choose,
No use for rules, too poor for morals.
Two views, both fools, accuse,
Loose tongues ruin their world.

Must they struggle and fight all their lives?
Into groups, they divided themselves,
Absolute truths and nonsense,
Both destroyed by their own kind.
Is it nothing to you, all you who pass by?
Is any suffering like their suffering?

They copulate and make offspring,
Die, their children die, their children die,
While they're still alive they mate,
Great minds think alike, again,
And again generations later they fight

The wind whispers to my skin,
It's like it speaks with every breath.
As if it has been calling out for my presence,
Waiting to see the face behind this mask.
So far it has shown nothing but disdain,
And I wonder if I have anything left to give.

In darkness I wander,
With nothing but my memories
Falling, falling, falling.
Where once I saw light now lies only gloom,
And I know that it has gone.
For those who wish for rest, I have none
Though I'd give up what I have, for one more.
But it's too much now, I can't move my hands,
I just want to sleep...
(My memory, it fades)
In the dark, with nothing to grasp,
The memories that I hold so dear
Fall away from me like they were never there.
And I feel as though I will fall into madness,
Like the very world is crumbling beneath my feet,
That everything is crashing down,
I fear I cannot stand the weight.
(I'm fading)
I just want to sleep...
(My memory, it fades)
***
I'm afraid I've gone and made a fool out of myself again,
I knew you wouldn't understand my reason,
And now you're not talking to me at all,
You see I didn't mean to let your memory fade,
It's like I was being pulled away by another force,
Something I didn't mean, something I can't control,
I don't even know why I'm still here...
I don't know why I'm still here.
I should leave this place, I know it's wrong,
I shouldn't be here in your mind,
I can't help the way that I am,
I don't know why I'm Super Mundane,
I can't stop feeling so low,
I'm afraid it's already too late.

I didn't mean to let you slip away,
But the thought of losing you just doesn't sit right,
To keep you awake and alive,
I need you here, I'm not alone,
Without you here with me I can't go on,
I don't know why I'm Super Mundane,
I don't know why I'm still here.
I didn't mean to let you slip away,
I just can't shake this feeling,
That something inside of me is broken,
I don't know why I'm Super Mundane,
I don't know why I'm still here.

This poem is an Articial Intelligence re-interpretation of "Super Mundane" by TheSoftSophist

As the fists hits the pavement, he changes
'Ignorance' he cries as he flails.
He denies what he feels and streams cable,
Internet and escapes what is real.
He is afraid of it, greatness, fame,
So he spends a lifetime playing.

C minors and B major, sustain,
Weeks later he liberates them,
Showing what a monster can be.

She cried too late, she surmises,
Where the water hits the sky she relates,
Relating further as the distance gains,
Relationships were never her game.

Decisions in haste are still decisions made,
Whether the bars bend makes no difference,
You still lived in a cage.

She is indivisible from a man,
She decides in a rage,
This divides her, divided in half, her life changes.
Her children are the product of mistakes.

She cried too late, she surmises.
Famine, she decides.
Pestilence, plague, flames,
Venom from the viper's fang,
Which she places upon the lambs that wail.

Take me away, she whispers to nobody there.
Take me away, she formally dresses, playing,
Addressing her former self, she was taken away,
Far from the pain that she feels everyday

espresso bean in the espresso machine
located here in the mezzanine
we serve your drinks with sweetness and cream
a fountain of everlasting caffeine.

espresso bean in the espresso machine
and not just coffee, we
also serve cuisine!
the chocolate brownie is a hit with the teens
huddled together near the register screen.

espresso bean in the espresso machine
here the noise is quite serene
amidst those coming and going, a calm in-between
come on over! help set the scene!

espresso bean in the espresso machine
week after month, to form a routine
yet the tasks of today remain unseen
‘tis the life of those on the library team.

Vape life, they scream, into the ether inhaled.
God's favored child, prophecy in their veins,
Perfectly sculpted face, one that time changes,
Poignantly, he learns too late:
Life is always cloudy when you're vaping,
Love doesn't come find you, you chase it,
Addicts only love you when you embrace them,
Gillette will only love you if you're shaving.

to stop what you are doing and beg
in a different way than before
for a chance to change;
to cause a beginning, a genesis

to start anew
in a parallel version of your life
where you have finally shaken off the slumber, opened your eyes
to start a new journey

but can it truly be a blank slate
if the dust from the eraser still chokes the air?

‘O Romeo Romeo wherefore art thou Romeo’,
The birds sing along to Juliets cries,
Is it so wrong to want a Tudor love,
Lived through 21st century eyes.

To kill yourself to be with them,
Rather than have to live alone,
It truly makes you understand,
The idea that a person can be a home.

And though some may call this type of love shallow,
I say they’re lies from a person who does not relate,
The need of a love so sweet and tragic,
United by fate.

Open lies, a world full,
Ocean tides, border known,
Mapped upon a mobile phone,
Burning eyes, wait in line,
A door, for more control;
Face comes first, defines,
Then maybe later stones.

Which would be more alone?
Sitting German in Lederhosen,
Burning all my former clothes,
Formal close, cutting ties;
Or a heart of glass, love inside,
Which fights a world, nothing like?
