Vast: mountains sway, At our age, the brain, Nowadays. Forgetful of things, Mountains sway, Like concepts of outer space. Distance, refrain, At our age, the brain, Under, stands the pain, It never comprehends, Where and what is, It just toils away.
Grumble, mumble, crunch. A stubborn muscle, Says one brain, One to the other. In a world of abundance, I chose cannabis subculture, Not getting high, Just shut the fuck up, And go away. Younger brother lost, I guess in a world full of lexicon, You never expect a clown like me To insult and beg them on. In a world full of choices, I always chose but one. I would never again lose something, That means so much. I love you, despite being gone. I love you, despite weak response, Despite my still beating heart, Like my blood had been robbed. In a world full of choices, I always choose but one. I would never lose again something, That means so much.
Upon the scale, weight, Upon frets a finger lays, A box of steaks, A lot of range, A lot of slaps across the face. Upon the face, the brain, Comfort: Darkness. Not just gray. Not just shame, Not just rage, Not just hop up on a train, Stardust trails along the way. Upon the Earth, fate, Upon desertion, fingers shake, Heavy upon the face and brain. Not just weight, Not just shame. Knots, the stomach and fingers make. I guess I changed, Not the same as we played, And it's not just the weight, Inside I'm white and sage, Like an apartheid state.
Thinking of exposure, orange, Are you coming over? Oh... From emotion to hypnosis, Light comes from the phone. Talking frozen yogurts, awards, Terrifying rollercoasters, poets. Light comes from the phone, Orange how the redness shows, Awe, gathering rosebuds below. When I wrote about you it showed, Both you and I know it, What else do I love? Suppose you had died, What else would I have? Hope you might fly home? Well, I paid for it anyway... Light comes from the phone, Blindness from my brain, Tiredness of fate. Like edamame on a plate, Somehow, I hoped for more, Even if it was more the same
Ballet shoes, champagne flutes, Game room hue suede blue, Cocktails offstage too. Maybe I'll leave the wave pool, Establish new trade routes, Maybe not, who knows? Bottles for now though. Broadway too, Wet roots, wrestling boots. Scale teeth need scraping through. But, The veiled truth is you wade, Life is a swamp, They lie, Blue in the face, Tell you it's not that way. Broadway, grey hues, Costumed plays, Or he borrows like hooped snakes. Babe, that ain't for you, It's not for anyone with a brain.
What changes with age? Cambridge, Yale, Navy. But today it rained, So blue wins the day. Head nod, hand wave. Stop, playing games, take aim, Place weights upon my grave, Nothing will change my fate. Head nod, hand wave. What changes with age? Space, royals and babies, Softness of brains, What is mundane? The third day on the front page, Shame, shame, shame, Change, change, change. Wait, wait wait, But away they sailed, So blue wins the day. Head nod, hand wave.
Invention of wheel, Longness of face, Internal promise of cake. I feel I cannot run away. Knowledge of space, Darkness of faith, Invention of metal, Weapons and trades. External promise of capes. Knowledge of place, Doctrine of faith, Darkness of brain. Call it a day! Harvest the slave's harvest, Get paid! Invention of cadmium. Longness of days, Internal rotten and lamed.
It was cold & the sky was too red as the sunset came too early - my brain was spinning with those letters & numbers & they were falling out of my ears. I looked at the asphalt and I saw my past and future yawning out - both in the same direction on the one-way road but my ears were too cold to listen, to learn. It was too austere in the building & too frigid outside & too glacial in the car picking its way home through the ice and old snow. It was too much too few & not enough of anything at all. & it swarmed. Threes with wings and velocities out with compound eyes buzz & sting & leave me paralyzed, there on the curb.
For Mayor, for payment, For wages, forced labour, For most run four bases, For patience, no basis. Road changes like young brains, Record-breakers, the role favours; Horses race toward old age, and the coast as it fades; Full weight behind the sail, Like regulation of the state, Your neighbour, Your patron, Afford bravery for faith, While some live, agate, Judge races from inside of a cage.
Obsessions What power you hold over me... Every action, every thought Is just a push in your direction Feeding into the obsessions, Lost connections, misdirections, Absolutely positively coerced into these affections By a brain constantly seeking tiny moments of perfection. Though you kind of must admire this curation of adoration, All the mental efforts required to keep up the constant cultivation Of this undisturbed fixation, The impropriety and distraction of a single-minded meditation, All these mind-numbing, pacing, clock-like rotations Theoretically leading this obsessive mind to pure elation, The uninhibited fruits of this persistent dedication. Happy sighs and exhalations... But then... The sobering realization That somehow life existed before this shrine’s erection And perhaps the cracks start to show, Unexpected but apparent imperfections, Initially denied and resolutely rejected, The shattered shards of a crystal ball that disagrees with my projections, The deflation, depletion, extortion Of my vexation, Maybe leading to complete and utter exoneration... The disintegration of my fascination. Maybe someday... But for now I prefer to float in my comforting contemplations, Giving in to the infatuation, These happy delusions of my mind’s incarceration. And if the worst this should cause is These false exhilarations, Then I shall stay here for a while And enjoy the scintillating sensations Of my obsessive ruminations. A Temporary Salvation.
Make a face, disappointed, Hopefully it stays that way, One appreciates a boys wit. What is pain but pain, To call a spade a spade, Our nature trail is grey. They say save whales, Scream of the rape of males, even in the face of change. Change my name, Change my state, Changing shapes on the screen again.
”The End” The night is young, Barely swollen with stars When the illusion shatters As though everyone I had ever known was gone The world as I had come to know it, Ended. Apocalyptic, And without near enough warning. Those paper souls lost, Their memories fast fading, The stories they told, Words lost in the wind Some names forgotten, Others stamped permanently onto my brain, autographs on my heart. I reminisced for a moment On the places we’d been, Conversations had, Friendships shared, Hardships weathered. Bright sunny days spent outside Or solitary nights spent avoiding sleep, Blanketed by the silent words between us, Alone but for each other’s company. Now I just feel alone, utterly, This finality staring me in the face Nothing left to do but face this music Slipping away at too rapid a pace These final notes, One last embrace. I tell myself I must accept this end, But allow myself one backward look Steel my heart, Heave a sigh, And with great trepidation... close this book. ❤️📚💔
OCDemons An O for the things that I just can’t let go And maybe it’s not even the same things as last week, But there all the same, Ground into my head As though they were the only thoughts that ever mattered Sacred and necessary Though likely invisible or nonexistent just a few days ago And maybe tucked back into the void In just a few more But I suppose it’s better than time spent Wondering What a head-on collision would be like Or how it might feel To put knife through bone It’s dangerous Inside my head sometimes C for the things that I just can’t not do Always look right when crossing a bridge Wear just enough purple Get the numbers right Watch the color patterns Check and check and check again I tell myself I do these things To clear a clouded head Unfortunately Seems to do The opposite instead D for the disorder in my head Brought on by A record on repeat all day, A ridiculous collection of unbreakable rules And the “honestly, what would REALLY happen?” Thoughts that make me feel insane The static buzz inside my brain So I Read it away. Write it away. Breathe it away. (Over)Think. It. Away. To Hell with you demons. Go plague someone else today. Oh...and see you in a little bit. 😉😑
Static Filled up with all that I can’t seem to say Brain buzzing ...Static... Like the constant angry drone of so many bees Short-circuiting and electrified Monological trappings trapped inside An open book With nothing to hide But still the words won’t come alive ...All I hear is static... Chest compressed and short of breath static, Static, STATIC Word obsessed, Linguistically repressed, Time-limited and hard-pressed Leaving me languid and distressed ...Static... Thoughts hellbent on sweet release Chasing words and losing sleep Those just-right lyrics are buried deep Underneath the static Ripping at my throat Itching in my fingers Insides aching Quivering, quaking All this FUCKING static .................................................... .......................... .......................... Frenzy fading Thoughts relocating Words spilled out Conscious creating A state of nirvana elevating And all I feel is Silence
it’s no longer july not a cloud above the sky august breeze rips through the car window to tear at my hair the only choices i make are both feet on the gas and no hands on the wheel this is the only way i truly feel healed will these be my halcyon days? anhedonia thickens brain fog into an impenetrable haze even high beams won’t make a dent in this maize true ambivalence comes at the cost of change have any coins in your innermost pockets?
The sun begins to set in the horizon I muster up the courage to walk like royalty With a few hours of rest, I think I am ready. Heart beats fast, hands are sweaty My brain feels like a time bomb. How do you get ready when you're not ready at all? Standing like a scarecrow I'm the one getting scared Why did you have to choose me? I just want to curl up or even flee. No one else seems to relate I must survive this time. As I leave, the moon begins its work. That's it for today. Tomorrow calls for another chance.
Soon, my rooftops ventures velour, While his felt cap. So my life could be but parkour, Hostile to this running man, Denying his own strategy. Assume my caricature ugly, Underlying themes, nothingness, Prion disease and brain eating. I scream, away, shoo Like strained water, drained, Boon by foolish penmanship true. Dry humor, dishes in an apartment, States his wishes, his way were apt, One could have but half, contrite, In manacles, retarded and live happy. Perhaps education provides a tragedy, In return, for pardon of inadequacy. So, I too tiptoe guarded garrisons, My bliss beheld past, Soon their life could be of boars. Therefore course I lick, Stamps compelled to stick, What am I? A Saliva Lich? On course to death? Rich. I would embrace the quick, Lest this lifetime of fists.
HI……… It’s about a half past midnight The time I always get my brain thinking of you Actually i don’t know if I just get my head thinking of you or you get in my head for me to think of you Six years down this hard life there is not a day I haven’t done that Its routinal it has to happen I hate you for hating me that much I know we all drowned but we didn’t die The silence gets louder and I am forced to think you’re not part of me any more But is that real Are the vows broken that easily The bonds we built every other time our lips touched Are they shattered that easily I don’t hate that you found love again Actually I too tried to find some one Though it didn’t just work out But I hate the way you keep silent on me Give a hi a day u don’t know how high that would lift me a day So if you loved me as u said u did some time Can you please share a second of your time with me a day Just to be sure we wish merry for each other Though it didn’t work between us GOODWINZ TIMOTHY
